Comprehensive Pressure Management 

Astrus Elite and Astrus Elite Silver Surfaces are designed to offer a balanced approach to pressure management through a multi-layered foam construction. Each layer plays a specific role in promoting patient comfort and protection:

  • Stretch Layer: The top stretch layer is designed to conform to the patient’s body, aiming to enhance comfort by adapting to their individual shape.
  • Conforming Layer: Beneath the stretch layer, the conforming foam works to further mold to the patient’s anatomy, contributing to a personalized fit that can help alleviate pressure points.
  • Support Layer: The middle support layer is engineered to distribute pressure more evenly, potentially reducing stress on bony prominences.
  • Anti-Bottoming Layer: The anti-bottoming layer adds another level of protection, intended to prevent the patient from sinking too deeply into the surface.
  • Diaphragm Layer: The diaphragm layer at the base provides additional stability and support, working to prevent bottoming out during extended use.
